Norwich City is only 20 minutes drive away and has a wonderful daily market, shops and restaurants as well as the historic Castle with it's art collection, an excellent refurbished theatre and many museums.It also has an excellent Park & Ride.

Bungay and Beccles have great shops - antiques, junk shops, boutique clothes and gift shops as well as delicatessens and country pubs.
St. Peter's Brewery and Hall, a 13c. converted Monastery near Bungay, is 20 minutes away.

Restaurants serving English, Thai, Indian and Japanese are available as well as local takeaways.

Other nearby attractions include Flixton Air Museum, the ruins of Bungay Castle, Fisher Theatre, Wingfield Barn Arts Centre, Wingfiled House & Garden. Fishing, canoeing and golf are available nearby. Excellent walks including Bungay common where the River Waveney weaves around the Northern fringe, also the remote Queen Ann home of the late Rider Haggard can be seen on this walk.
The beauty of the Waveney Valley area inspired the famous horse artist, Sir Alfred Munnings, who lived in the small village of Mendham close by.
